Sharissa's essay about a child prodigy

*Sharissa's essay is about an article we read in class called "Beyond His Years" about a 10 year old boy who is in his 2nd year of college. He is a normal 10-year old in every way, except for his amazing capacity to learn beyond his years. When we discussed this article, the students expressed a lot of fascination about what it would be like to be a child prodigy.

My name is Sharissa. I live in a small town in Alaska. I am smart enough to be in 3rd grade. I would be scared to go into high school today. I would like to be a child prodigy because I could do great things.

A child prodigy is a child that is smart like a grown up.

Like you could help kids with homework. You could have any great job you wanted. You could remember stuff from when you were little. You could be a scientist.
